Theatre Haus - The Phantom of The Opera
‘Phantom of the Opera’ was breathtaking.
“Choreography by Jayden Grogan was a treat to watch, particularly from the ballet chorus. Grogan did a fantastic job of tailoring movement to the theatre. In full ensemble numbers such as ‘Masquerade’, Grogan embraced the tightly packed space and created highly effective small synchronised movements. Grogan also got to showcase his incredible ballet moves among the chorus.”
Blue Curtains - The Phantom of The Opera
“A big cast fills the stage in what is an elaborate production. Still, the ensemble impresses, for example, in Act Two’s opening masquerade ball scene ‘Masquerade’, which is a highpoint of performance and design. The tapestry of harlequin themed outfits is a colourful show of Anita Sweeney’s costume design, enlivened by Jayden Grogan’s orderly choreography. It’s a memorable number too in its contrast to the shadowy candle-lit Gothic atmosphere created by David Lawrence’s set design.”
ArtsHub - Sara Macliver in Concert with Camerata
“This concert included the diversion of young Queensland tap dancer, Jayden Grogan, tapping and somersaulting to the Typewriter Song while the orchestra played busily in accompaniment. This was a short but fun segment and Jayden was astonishingly good.”
Weekend Notes - Sara Macliver in Concert with Camerata
“This time, with unconcealed glee, Brendan Joyce introduced Jayden Grogan, a fluidly moving tap-dancer who leapt, somersaulted, tapped and slid his way into our hearts to the music of Leroy Anderson’s “Typewriter” – to an audience probably equally divided between those familiar and unfamiliar with the sounds of a typewriter being used by a skilled operator. This was a lot of fun.”
Theatre Haus - The Creatures of Prometheus
“‘The Creatures of Prometheus’ was where Grogan’s choreographic prowess was truly on show. Stepping into his first full-length ballet choreographic role, and simultaneously playing the leading role, Grogan reimagined a work lost to time. The complexity within his choreography was immediately apparent and gave incredible nuance to the characters on stage. Grogan’s choreography, while the creatures were brought to life, was a particular highlight, allowing Halmarick and Tighe to shine in their physicality while showcasing Grogan’s comparative agility. ”
Dance Australia - The Creatures of Prometheus
“This was an ambitious project performed with energy and enthusiasm. It was delivered to a packed and enthusiastic house, and gave this audience member at least, a new-found appreciation of Beethoven.”
Blue Curtains - BUNKER
“‘Bunker’ is not only technically impressive, but also a physical show demanding stamina of its performers. This thrilling new artwork from two of Australia’s most accomplished artists is certainly deserving of the acclaim.”
ArtsHub - The Little Mermaid
“Guest artist Jayden Grogan excelling as the young prince offered exceptional ballet to the appreciative audience.”
Dance Australia - QUT DANCE 17
“Grogan in particular captured the attention with his broad, dynamically powerful and beautifully extended movement.”

Blue Curtains - JINGLE
““Jingle” is like a mini Cirque du Soleil show for the whole family. Like a chocolate box of only the best assortments, it gives us an array of Australian-based circus, song and dance (from impressive tap to ballet numbers and even twin dancing reindeers) in a magical festive holiday treat. And its diverse, creative entertainment will surely stimulate the senses and entertain the passions of audiences of all sorts during its extended holiday run.”
Scenestr - Cirque O L I O
“I could spend pages, easily, singing the praises of this show. Each act is a standalone often ushered in by an incredibly talented team of dancers, and yet, it felt cohesive in a way I can’t quite understand. Both family friendly, and full of subtle asides to amuse the adults, it is a photographer’s dream of light, smoke, athleticism, and theatricality that made me itch for the chance to try and capture at least a little of those 70 minutes of visual artistry”
Theatre Haus - Cirque O L I O
“Fom the masterfully creative team behind ‘Cirque Bon Bon’ comes this new imagining of circus, magic and dance in a family-friendly format that will tickle the senses of young and old alike. Connecting a lot of the individual artist performances throughout the evening were six stunning dancers that performed countless numbers, utilising six large, decorated set pieces that somewhat resembled sliding doors. Their beauty and grace held the attention of the crowd with their demonstrated flexibility and high level of skill that was executed brilliantly. Credit must also go to their costume designer for creating their gorgeous outfits that tied in beautifully with the nature of the show. Featuring acts of pain-defying skill, unbelievable magic, tantalising dance and jaw-dropping circus, ‘Cirque O L I O’ was delivered to perfection.”
Theatre Haus - JINGLE
“Choreographer/Director Julieann Nugent crafted lovely Christmas fairy-tale-like dance routines which not only stood on their own feet (pardon the pun), but also worked well to link the different acrobatic numbers together in the absence of a structured story line. The six dancers showed impressive skills in a range of genres including tap dancing, ballet, and the costumes were all amazing.”
Blue Curtains - Cirque O L I O
“While it is pitched as family entertainment, however, “O L I O” also serves as reminder that magic really is for all ages. For a family show with the simple purpose to amaze, astonish and transport audiences, it is both a lovely summation of its sentiment and the perfect conclusion to its variety of entertainment.”
Nothing Ever Happens In Brisbane - Cirque O L I O
“O L I O doesn’t bother with a host, keeping us entertained with dance routines in between the more showstopper acts instead. The show benefits from this decision, with no awkward banter and an energetic pace that kept the audience going right until the end. O L I O delivered on its promise that I would see something I had never seen before, and I truly hope I have the pleasure to see more of this kind of subversive and affirming inclusion again.”
Theatre Haus - Cirque Bon Bon
“Of course, one can not forget the cast of gorgeous dancers that weaved their way through the various routines, assisting the circus artists, as well as delivering flowing and mesmerizing numbers themselves. Their costumes were alluring and beautifully crafted and complemented the soft movements of their routines.
Whether it was the stunning dance numbers, or the death-defying aerials, every element of ‘Cirque Bon Bon’ delivered on its promise of being a “playful journey of wonder.” The depth of talented artists worked flawlessly together to bring the show to life and captured a truly emotional response of amazement and sheer joy from the packed Powerhouse audience. The only disappointing thing is its incredibly short run, so get in quick while you can! ”
