Education - Teaching

Jayden graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with two degrees including a Master of Philosophy (Creative Practice) in 2020 and received Distinction for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) in 2017. In addition to his Vice Chancellor’s Creative Industries Scholarship and receiving Dean’s List commendations every semester, Jayden obtained the annual King’s Scholar Medal 2017 from King’s College. He has also taught contemporary partnering units as a Sessional Academic Lecturer at QUT. Other choreographic processes across Australia he has worked with include; Sydney Dance Company, Australasian Dance Collective, Leigh Warren Dancers, Dancenorth, and Prying Eye Productions along with multiple independent choreographers from around the world that have informed his signature ways of moving. He was chosen for Cirque Du Soleil’s official performer selection database. Jayden assisted choreographer Lisa Wilson to create Circa Academy’s Circus Obscura in 2023. Ozfrank directors Jacqui Carroll and John Nobbs work closely with Jayden on their many interdisciplinary, stage and filmic projects and Nobbs/Suzuki Praxis (NSP) physical actor training. For Queensland Ballet’s 60th Anniversary Gala, Jayden was Assistant Rehearsal Director and Stager for Jacqui Carroll’s Carmina Burana.

Jayden is a registered Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Teacher CBTS and attained:

  • RAD Advanced 2

  • Comdance (CSTD) Modern Jazz Teachers Certificate

  • Comdance (CSTD) Tap Teachers Certificate

  • Honours Plus in all levels of Comdance (CSTD) Tap and Modern Jazz

  • Advanced Performance Certificate with Distinction from Trinity College London.

Jayden teaches:

  • contemporary, improvisation workshops, ballet, pas de deux, contemporary partnering, male coaching, modern, tap, jazz, acrobatics, juggling, strength and conditioning.

  • at schools, tertiary institutions and private dance schools and includes competition routines.

  • developing a personalised creative practice, his Toolbox of Embodied Sampling Strategies and early-career development for dance artists.

  • dance film editing, audio composition/editing, dance/embodiment and technology, choreographic methods, and elite performance.

  • Qualitative and Practice Research Methods, interviewing and analysis, writing and concept development.
