About
BUNKER is a bold new intermedial dance work exploring the physical threat of virtual alarm from two of Australia’s most accomplished artists.
At 8:07am on 13th January 2018, Hawaii issued a false emergency SMS alert:
“BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER.”
Telephone systems crashed under the weight of a whole population trying to say goodbye.
Integrating dance, an original score and dynamic video projection, BUNKER is a theatrically compelling and visually rich exploration of digital fear – a primal scream into the sky that seeks to find a calm beauty in between our angst.
Exploring the physical threat of virtual alarm, the work is lead by internationally renowned dance choreographer, Lisa Wilson & techno-troublemaker, Nathan Sibthorpe. Integrating an original score by Guy Webster and dynamic video projection by Nathan Sibthorpe, BUNKER is a gripping and deeply affecting contemporary dance work that seeks to find beauty in between moments of chaos.
